With the threat of Covid-19 still looming, it remains to be seen when and how we'll be able to return to live events such as music concerts and festivals. Creative studio Production Club — who specializes in immersive experiences for music, tech, and gaming industries — feels it has come up with a solution, however, introducing a protective suit called Micrashell.

Micrashell is a futuristic hazmat suit of sorts, outfitted with smartphone integration, a voice communication system, internal speaker system, cameras, LED lights, and a snap-in canister for drinking and vaping. It also has air filtration and a breathing system, as well as a quick attachment feature for add-ons and customizations.

The idea is that Micrashell — which Production Club refers to as a "virus-shielded, easy to control, fun to wear, disinfectable, fast to deploy personal protective equipment (PPE)" — can be worn at concerts, festivals, and nightclubs to allow for social interaction without fear of contracting the coronavirus or other diseases.

“We said we still need to find a solution because people are still going out. People are still going to party and still skipping social distance measures," Miguel Risueno, head of inventions for Production Club, told NBC Los Angeles. "With our solution, we are trying to make space available for everyone because our solution depends on your own footprint rather than distancing yourself."

Once a physical prototype of the suit is produced, Production Club plans to pitch Micrashell to event planners and venues, thus allowing for the purchase of the suit. Customers would then be able to rent Micrashell at live events.
