To celebrate her little brother walking in the D&G SS18 show, Miley Cyrus took to Instagram writing a gushing note about how proud she was of him.

All sounds pretty non-controversial, right? Well, below the congratulations, the singer also added an extra note intended for the fashion house itself. “PS D&G, I STRONGLY disagree with your politics…. but I do support your company’s effort to celebrate young artists & give them the platform to shine their light for all to see!”

Dolce & Gabbana have recently come under fire for choosing to dress Melania Trump, which many see as an explicit endorsement of Trump's administration, so it's highly likely that Miley's note is a reference to that controversy.

That said, the fashion house has previously been criticized for comments that people have deemed homophobic, so the singer could be referring to a number of things.

In the comments section, Gabbana snapped back at the singer saying “for your stupid comment never more work with him,” which, considering Miley's caption didn't come from her brother Braison, is slightly petty.

Gabbana then posted the same image to his personal Instagram account, writing: “We are Italian and we don’t care about politics and mostly neither about the American one! We make dresses and if you think about doing politics with a post it’s simply ignorant. We don’t need your posts or comments so next time please ignore us!! #boycottdolcegabbana."

In other news, Miley Cyrus fronts Converse’s Pride Month “YES to ALL” campaign.
