Director J. D. Dillard and Luke Cage writer Matt Owens have apparently been tapped to head yet another Star Wars movie, reports The Hollywood Reporter. In its exclusive, the publication outlines that it has yet to be decided whether the new Star Wars movie will be a theatrical release or reserved for streaming platform Disney+.

J.D. Dillard is best known for writing and directing the sci-fi thriller Sleight, while Matt Owens has Agents of SHIELD under his belt in addition to the aforementioned Luke Cage Netflix series.

The project is believed to be unrelated to another Star Wars pitch by Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige and Rian Johnson’s work on Last Jedi.

So far there is no information on the plot, though Deadline reports that the film will supposedly take place on Exegol—a hidden Sith planet that was introduced in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

As always, stay tuned for updates as we get them.
