Sneakers
From the ground up

Nick Young, aka Swaggy P, is one NBA player that knows how to make a footwear statement on the court. During a recent game against the New York Knicks, the Golden State Warriors shooting guard was seen playing in a pair of the coveted YEEZY 500s.

Having previously flexed in the YEEZY Boost 750, the appearance of the Desert Rat got social media talking. However, while Young’s kick game was on point, his actual basketball game was much less impressive.

Finishing with just three points in 14 minutes of action, Swaggy P might want to think about wearing actual basketball performance sneakers on the court next time. Not that it mattered though, as Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson picked up his slack en route to a 125-111 win.

The reaction from social media towards Young’s footwear choice was predictably mixed. While some argued that the 500s were a fire choice, others suggested that Young was mad for bringing the shoe to the game.

All those in favor

All those against

While reviews remain mixed on this front, this is not the first time a hyped silhouette has been seen on court. Players such as Draymond Green and PJ Tucker have been snapped wearing various shoes from Nike x Virgil Abloh’s “The Ten” series while Dame Lillard was papped showcasing his own collaborative BAPE x adidas DAME sneaker before the NBA All-Stars game.
