Cop It, Then Rock It

The NBA All-Star weekend is shaping up to be huge for Jordan fans as the brand is dropping not one, not two, not three, but four distinct Air Jordan 3 silhouettes: The Air Jordan 3 Black Cement, Air Jordan 3 White Cement NRG, Air Jordan 3 Tinker.

30 years on from Michael Jordan’s incredible 1988 season, in which he won the Slam Dunk Contest with that impossible dunk, Nike is going above and beyond to commemorate the GOAT’s special achievement. Browse below for details on each sneaker.

Air Jordan 3 White Cement

The White Cement AJ3 celebrates Micheal Jordan’s free throw line dunk during the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest with a translucent sole that features a red stripe to represent the exact place where MJ took flight. The upper is constructed using white leather and red accents on the tongue and lace holes, while cement print covers the mudguard and heel, where the OG Nike Air logo can be seen.

Air Jordan 3 Black Cement

The Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement” features a black tumbled leather upper complete with grey perforated leather accents and cement detailing on the mudguard and heel. A white midsole features the silhouette’s signature visible Air unit at the heel, while the OG Nike Air logo is back for the first time in over a decade.

Air Jordan 3 Tinker

The AJ 3 Tinker represents Tinker Hatfield’s original Air Jordan 3 sketch. Key differences are the Nike Swoosh (seen on the lateral side of the silhouette), as well as a dark grey cement pattern, grey mudguard, and red heel cup. The inside of the tongue features Hatfield’s signature.
