What We’re Saying: The iconic Nike Air Jordan 4 “Lightning” — one of the most grail-worthy retro Air Jordans to ever be released — is returning as a general release sneaker on August 28. The original sneaker was released in 2006 and was highly limited in an online-only drop.

Over time, the “Lightning” AJ4 reached grail status among many sneakerheads and, with prices for the 2006 pair unaffordable for most, many are glad to see the colorway returning later this month. It’s highly likely that this pair will be more widely available than the original, as Nike will look to cash in on the hype surrounding the colorway.

As was the case on the OG, “Tour Yellow” nubuck drapes the upper of the sneaker, while “dark blue-gray” accents provide pops of contrast. Hits of black complement the yellow base.

Head to Nike SNKRS to find out exactly when to secure a pair on August 28. In the meantime, check out the best general release Jordans arriving throughout 2021.
