Editor’s Notes: It's official. Nike's Kukini initiative is in full swing. And as a fan of the webbed lace-free shoe, I'm more than here for it.

After receiving the Triple Black treatment and even a pixelated scheme, the early 2000s model gets slimed out for its latest release (not literally, of course).

Dubbed "Volt," the Nike Air Kukini literally looks like someone drizzled green goo over the shoe, thanks to its neon green TPU web overlay.

The familiar cage detail, which glows in the dark this go-around, spreads over the shoe's black neoprene upper down to the speckled midsole. At the same time, the vibrant green hue also strikes the insole and Air units in the heel in a less gooey-looking manner, of course.

With fashion still obsessed with all things Y2K, the early 2000s model couldn't have resurfaced at a better time. Nike even dropped some silver versions, which oozes the era's futuristic feels.

Now, the Nike Air Kukini's renaissance advances with the slime look, which, in my opinion, would've made for a perfect Halloween drop.

Between the creepy goo effect and glow-in-the-dark feature, the "Volt" Kukini is undoubtedly a spooky-season-worthy shoe.

Nonetheless, the Nike Air Kukini "Volt" works for the holidays, too. Come on. Glowing kicks paired with a festive sweater? It sounds like a winner for the family Christmas outfit contest to me.
