Editor’s Notes: LA-based RHUDE has teamed up with PUMA on a special-edition of the latter’s CELL Endrua silhouette. The collaborative sneaker pays tribute to RHUDE founder, Rhuigi Villaseńor’s homeland, the Philippines, where he was born and spent part of his childhood.
The colorway, dubbed “Sundry,” is inspired by sundrying, which is a traditional garment drying method in the Philippines that Villaseńor’s mother was accustomed to prior to moving to America.
RHUDE was founded in 2015 and has quickly gained a cult following of celebrities, including Kendrick Lamar, LeBron James, and A$AP Rocky. Villaseńor also featured on this year’s Forbes 30 Under 30 list.
The CELL Endura was first released in 1988 and, as its name suggests, featured CELL technology that provided stable cushioning in the midsole. Check out RHUDE’s version in the detailed shots below.
