After the shitshow that was McDonald’s re-release of its Szechuan sauce, Justin Roiland, co-creator of Rick and Morty, has apologized for what went down last month.

When it became apparent that there wasn’t enough sauce to go around, a handful of Rick and Morty fans behaved in an embarrassing manner, picketing certain McDonald’s franchises and abusing the staff.

Talking to TMZ in the video above, Roiland admits that the re-release was poorly planned out and executed. He is then critical of those who misbehaved toward staff, who were just doing their jobs.

He also endorsed reselling adding, “if you can sell the sauce for $1,000 – pay your bills, feed your children – do it, man!”

This isn’t the first time one of the show’s co-creators has spoken out about questionable fan behavior.
