Key Features: The Era boasts a built-in ankle bracelet and metals charms sewn into a pink velour upper. The first Old Skool is offered in pink velour, inspired by the couch in Liang's Lower East Side studio. The sneaker is also outfitted with crisscross chain detailing. The second iteration of the Old Skool is dedicated to the L.E.S., featuring black canvas uppers and exposed white lock stitching, custom Sandy Liang laces, butterfly adorned outsoles, and custom stitching on each heel. The Platform Slip-On is then draped in snow leopard fur from upper to sole, while the Sport blends canvas leopard uppers on one side with a traditional tartan plaid on the medial side. The Sport comes with a checkerboard printed heel tab and custom laces as well.

Editor’s Notes: Vans teams up with New York fashion designer Sandy Liang for a limited edition collection spanning sneakers, apparel, and accessories. The assortment, which embodies the designer's bold but youthful take on fashion, pulls inspiration from her hometown of Bayside, Queens, her grandmother, and the hand-me-downs from her childhood.
“To see my ideas come to life on such an iconic collection of footwear and apparel is a dream come true” said Liang. “This collection embodies the playful dreaminess of the nineties, as well as the grittiness of downtown New York City.”
Sandy Liang x Vans consists of five sneakers — the Era, two colorways of the Old Skool, the Platform Slip-On, and Sport — as well as a nine-piece range of apparel and accessories.
While the sneakers have been detailed in the "Key Features" section above, the collaborative collection also includes apparel and accessories, which reference the '90s with marbled colorways, butterfly iconography, and bejeweled detailing. Styles include the Sandy BF Hoodie, Sandy LS BF Tee, Sandy Bike Short, Sandy Tank, Sandy Polo, Sandy Jumpsuit, Sandy Fanny, Sandy Crossbody, and Sandy Sock.
The Sandy Liang x Vans collection will be available at an exclusive pop-up shopping experience at The General by Vans retail location in Brooklyn from February 21 through March 15. Select Vans stores and sandyliang.info will also carry the goods beginning February 21.
