Sinroja Motorcycles has revealed a tasty new custom BMW R3 cafe racer, built from an ex-police bike.

The brothers behind Sinroja, Rahul and Birju, grew up in India and were always mesmerized by motorcycles. The country has a strange relationship with bikes, seeing them almost entirely as a mode of transport rather than something to love and cherish; but not Rahul and Birju. From an early age they spent hour after hour repairing and restoring old bikes, a hobby they have now turned into a profession with their own custom shop in Birmingham, England.

This new R3 is just their third build (they might've done a few more had the local council not shut down their workshop for noise disturbances) but it's a good one. The lads took a ex-police cruiser, the BMW R80, but decided to throw in the engine from a 1993 R100 R to bump up the original 1000cc power.

Rahul wanted the bike to look fast, even when it was stationary, so he engineered a subframe that makes the bike look like it's set to pounce, and one that will also pitch the rider forward. Added little extras include a custom alloy fuel cap, polished hubs and passenger pegs, clip-on Suzuki handlebars, and a gorgeous powder blue fuel tank.

Take a detailed look at the bike above, and head over to the Sinroja website to see its previous two builds.

In other news, this jaw-dropping “Digimoto” uses futuristic virtual reality technology.
