Editor’s Notes: To celebrate Sneakerness Paris 2018, Francky B, the man behind the event, has teamed up with PUMA for a special-edition version of the German sportswear giant’s popular Thunder silhouette.

Dubbed the “Astroness,” the sneaker pack’s colorway was inspired by an encounter with Marseille rapper, Alonzo. Marseille is known as Mars to its residents and, as Francky B talked to Alonzo a common theme became clear: the future, space exploration, and the year 2054.

The PUMA Thunder line is the brand’s chunky, on-trend sneaker that was created (in part) as a homage to PUMA’s past collaborations with Alexander McQueen.

The retro-inspired sneaker includes a heavy use of orange. That color, of course, is a nod to Mars and the orange spacesuits worn by the First NASA shuttle crews.

Check out the sneaker above and make sure to pick up a pair at Sneakerness Paris on September 15 and 16. The pack is exclusively available at Sneakerness and limited to 201 pairs, so if you want one you’ll have to be quick.
