Sony has just announced the pricing for its first ever 8K LCD TV. The Master Series Z9G TV arrives in two sizes, 85-inch and 98-inch, and if you’re looking to cop the bigger one, it’ll set you back $70,000.
The smaller of the two top-of-the-range televisions costs $13,000. While that’s still a lot of cash to drop on a TV, Sony’s new sets are cheaper than Samsung’s 8K TVs, whose 98-inch and 85-inch sets cost $100,000 and $15,000 respectively.
So what makes them worth the price? Aside from 8K high dynamic range images, which deliver a real depth of field, with full of texture and detail, the Z9G boasts IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Vision and Atmos, and Sony’s own acoustic multi-audio system, all of which combine to fully immerse you in one of the best audiovisual experiences money can buy.
The TV also includes a Netflix-calibrated mode and links up with Google Assistant, so you don’t even need to lift your hands to select and view your favorite shows.
The Master Series Z9G release date is yet to be announced. Head over to Sony for more details.
