The Weeknd hinted last night on Instagram that he would be sharing the music video for his instant hit-single "Starboy" featuring the inimitable Daft Punk, and that it would be arriving sometime today. Turns out he is a man of his word, as the singer just dropped the highly-anticipated visual just minutes ago.

And for all the fans who lost their ever-loving minds about The Weeknd shearing off his iconic hairstyle as evidenced by the new album cover, he was listening. The video opens with the singer getting abducted by... himself!... albeit an evil twin version that is depicted with the flat-top currently adorning his head. The rest of the visual sees this dark version of The Weeknd rummaging through his better half's house and destroying all his prized possessions with a giant neon cross. There's also both a cat and a panther, the latter of which gets to go for a joyride in his escape vehicle. And though Daft Punk may not be in the video themselves, look out for a blink-and-you'll-miss-it visualization of the French electronic duo that appears somewhere in the singer's house.

"Starboy" is the title track off The Weeknd's forthcoming album. No official release date has been announced but rest assured that it will be reported swiftly once more info comes out. So stay tuned!

In other recent music video news, Kaytranada released an infectiously joyous (and adorable) visual for "You're the One" riffing on early ‘90s television shows. Watch it right here.
