After recently being acquired by LVMH, Tiffany & Co. has named its new creative director, and it will likely come as a surprise. Ruba Abu-Nimah, formerly of Revlon, has been chosen to lead the creative direction at Tiffany, as confirmed in her Instagram bio.

LVMH has long been known for normalizing the unexpected. The appointment of Abu-Nimah certainly follows trend in that regard, as the former Revlon creative director does not come from a jewelry background. Nonetheless, she began her new role at Tiffany this week, reporting directly to Alexandre Arnault, the brand's executive vice president of product and communications. While little has been said about her position at this time, WWD reports that Abu-Nimah will not be involved in product development, instead focusing on driving the creative vision at Tiffany.

Prior to serving as a senior vice president and creative director at Revlon, Abu-Nimah held high-ranking positions at Elle magazine, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, and Shiseido. Throughout her career, she has had a hand in everything from store design and visuals, to packaging, social media, and beyond.

It remains to be seen how her background in cosmetics will influence her work at Tiffany, but expect to hear more on her new role in the coming days and weeks.
