Netflix has tapped renowned director Errol Morris for its latest true-crime series. Mixing traditional documentary methods with scripted storytelling, the six-part series focuses on the death of Frank Olson (played by Peter Sarsgaard), a CIA employee who jumped to his death in 1953.

Olson was involved in the infamous MKUltra program where the CIA conducted mind control experiments on unwitting patients using both LSD and torture. The program ran from the 1950s before it was shut down in 1973 and all its files destroyed.

The documentary poses the question whether Olson’s death was really a suicide, or if it was part of a larger government conspiracy. Watch the trailer above and look out for Wormwood when it hits Netflix December 15.
