Bedroom music will always have a special place in the hearts of introverts and Nova Moura is the latest artist to cater specifically to these types of ears. The R&B artist makes smooth tunes to keep you company during the darkest hours of the night. Today, we’re premiering his new single “Gone Girl.” Nova explained how the collaborative track with Florida producer XXYYXX is about separation in an email to Highsnobiety.
“It’s one of those explorations of abandonment and what that causes; the thoughts, feelings, and tendencies,” he said. “The song talks about the freshness of those wounds and the life that those wounds helped to create. It’s also a sort of conversation, I guess, with that person who abandoned me. I wanted to express that the failed relationship wasn’t solely my fault in the hopes that maybe someday she would hear it.”
“Gone Girl” will be included on Nova’s forthcoming EP, the follow-up to his Desension Ramona series. Stream the slow-burning banger in full below.
