Off-White may be most famous for its streetwear-meets-fashion men’s collections, but Virgil’s got a dab hand at creating clothes for the fairer sex, too. One of the most streetwear-inclined brands to show on the glitzy Paris Fashion Week circuit, Off-White took to the French capital to show what Virgil’s got up his sleeve for next year’s womenswear collection.
Here’s everything that went down at the grand unveiling of Virgil’s Off-White Fall 2017 opus, including appearances from Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and teasers of the brand’s latest Levi’s collab.

The Off-White Fall 2017 Invite
Virgil loves a bit of fine art, and the Off-White FW17 show invite mixed Marcel Duchamp’s famous L.H.O.O.Q. — a Mona Lisa postcard that Duchamp drew a mustache on — with the signature from his Dadaist masterpiece Fountain (aka the graffiti’d toilet turned on its side).
The show space for the FW17 Off-White womenswear showed mirrored that of the men’s show back in June — the floor was littered with dried leaves and smoke eerily filled the air.
Where Off-White’s menswear is still very much a work in progress, with many different ideas shouting at each other at once, Virgil’s women’s collections are a much slicker, more polished affair.
He opened up by styling plaid topcoats alongside hoodies, chiffon dresses and sneakers — tres modern. That’s Bella Hadid in the cropped plaid number, FYI.
Off-White x Levi’s continued with mega-cropped trucker jackets, generously-cut jeans and some pretty sick tiger-striped pieces.
Glitzy pieces were splattered with Swarovski crystals (wonder how much those will cost?) and oversized sequins and dazzling velvet jacquard pieces sick, too. Off-White’s eveningwear floated beautifully down the runway, and was styled out to feel modern and now, thanks to those low-key graphics.
Whether you’re a fan of his work or not, it’s hard to deny that Virgil’s got a good sense of humor. See these hilarious “FOR WALKING” boots that he’s got up his sleeve for Off-White FW17.
The Off-White Fall 2017 Guestlist
This is Paris Fashion Week, so naturally some of Virgil’s famous friends came to show their support — Kendall Jenner turned up to the show, donning a banging all-red get-up (Off-White SS17, naturally).
Meanwhile, modeling megastars Bella Hadid and Hailey Baldwin walked in the show itself — here’s a vid of Hadid opening up in a cropped plaid two-piece.
That Raf Quote
Remember Raf Simons’ interview a month or so back, when he not-so-subtly implied that he didn’t take Virgil’s work seriously? Well, Abloh addressed that in his always-humble manner.
“That critique, I finally heard it out loud, which is great. To me, it was a launchpad to think about what I am doing and why I am doing it—to live with that phrase and recognize what it means,” he explained to Vogue backstage. “You would sit there and say it over and over to get at the emotion. It was motivating.”
Abloh will readily admit that Off-White is a work in progress — “My brand feels like it’s starting from zero, which is great,” he told WWD — so it’s not surprising to hear him deal with criticism from one of the best menswear designers of all time in such a modest, down-to-earth manner. Big up Virgil.
