Post Malone and 21 Savage’s “rockstar” is now the number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 a month after its initial release. The track debuted at number 2 on the Streaming Songs chart, thanks in part to its record-breaking first week on Apple Music, where it managed to rack up a whopping 25 million streams.
“rockstar” is now number 1 on the Streaming Songs chart, with 51.3 million U.S. streams, up 3 percent in the week ending October 12. Post Malone and 21 Savage’s achievement is especially remarkable considering the fact that there hasn’t been an official music video released for the song.
“Post is one of the most unique artists I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with,” said Republic VP of Marketing Marleny Dominguez in a statement to Billboard. “He truly treads his own path. It’s amazing to see him resonate by just being himself. It’s a testament to his individuality and integrity.”
