Brand: A-COLD-WALL* x Converse

Model: Aeon Active Cx

Editor’s Notes: A-COLD-WALL* took to Instagram in June 2021 to tease a new collaboration with Converse. The sneaker in question is the newly-revealed Aeon Active CX, which represents Converse’s radical new design language.

Sam Ross’ label has worked with both Nike and subsidiary brand Converse in the past. Projects have ranged from slight tweaks to classic silhouettes (the ACW* Air Force 1 comes to mind) to completely reimagined icons, such as the brand’s previous Converse Chuck Taylor Boot collab. This time, however, Sam Ross and Converse have put A-COLD-WALL*’s distinct aesthetic on an all-new silhouette.

In the teaser, we can see that Sam Ross has given his upcoming collaborative sneaker a translucent icy outsole that sits in contrast to the slime green midsole. The sneaker’s upper features a perforated mixed-material construction. A-COLD-WALL* branding is present on the midsole and the upper. The colorway reminds strongly of Kanye West’s iconic Nike Air Yeezy 2 colorway, where the same infrared was mixed with black and neon slime green.

The Converse Aeon Active CX represents a shift in product design for the brand, which has largely benefited from the popularity of its classic sneakers. While a general release of Converse's CX sneakers launched in 2021, the A-COLD-WALL*’s Aeon Active CX is expected to arrive soon as the brand recently opened online registration for email updates.

Undoubtedly, Sam Ross or the brand itself will reveal more detailed information in the days to come. Stay tuned and, until then, check out the teaser above.
