After it was reported thatApple might be getting ready to release the successor to the AirPods Pro, the AirPods Pro Lite, a new report — covered by Digitimes — claims that they could be released as soon as mid-2020.

The Taiwanese publication first reported that Apple could be looking to move production of some of its products to assembly lines in Taiwan instead of China, due in part to the coronavirus outbreak. It revealed that among the products potentially affected would include a “new-generation AirPod Pro Lite," alongside a new-generation iPad, Apple Watch, and iMac.

It is unclear exactly what Digitimes is referring to as "AirPod Pro Lite," and it's not clear how a "Lite" version of the ‌AirPods Pro‌ would fit into Apple's lineup.  While the report mentions no further details, it seems likely that the rumored Lite earphones could be at a lower price point than the AirPods Pro, and that this iteration will possibly come without noise-cancellation to diversify the lineup.

Keep it here for more updates on Apple’s rumored AirPods Pro Lite.
