Drake has hit yet another milestone with his new album Scorpion. According to the Recording Industry Association of America's website, the project was certified Platinum the day it dropped (Friday June 29). This means Scorpion moved at least 1 million equivalent units in the U.S. in 24 hours. To compare, Post Malone's Beerbongs & Bentleys was certified Platinum four days after it dropped.

Drake's double album overtook Post Malone's previous record for most single-day album streams, reaching over 170 million streams in 24 hours, breaking records across Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music Unlimited. Drake's streaming dominance, particularly on Spotify, can be attributed in part to his “ScorpionSZN” takeover, where the rapper took over multiple playlists on the same day. However, the Internet was not impressed with Spotify going overboard on the Drake promo, with many customers demanding a refund for this month's subscription. There's also a CD version of Scorpion set to drop July 13.
