Berlin, June 2018. Highsnobiety and Diadora are pleased to announce the launch of their first ever product collaboration: a four-piece capsule for Summer 2018. The first of two collaborations between the brands to celebrate Diadora’s 70th anniversary, the capsule is inspired by Berlin and contains a pair of N9002 sneakers, a two-piece tracksuit, a pair of sliders, and a beach towel. The capsule drops exclusively at Highsnobiety.com on Thursday, June 28.

The focal point of the collection is one of Berlin’s most famous landmarks: Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (known as the Gedächtniskirche in German) in the West of the city. The collection was designed by Highsnobiety in close collaboration with Hikmet Sugoer, who — as well as being a globally renowned sneaker legend in his own right — is a proud born ’n’ raised Berliner who spent his teens hanging out at the square in front of the former church. The square, sat between the bombed-out church and the neon signs of the Europa Center, was a prime hangout spot for Berlin's hip-hop, breakdancing, and skate scene before and after the Berlin Wall came down.

For the Highsnobiety x Diadora capsule, Highsnobiety and Sugoer reference this landmark church in a collection that pays homage to Berlin's ’90s scene through iconic ’90s Diadora streetwear pieces. Sugoer uses the Gedächtniskirche as the basis for the capsule’s color palette — gray and silver evoke the stone, reflective gold foil mirrors the clock face, and the distinct patina of the half-ruined copper roof inspires the capsule's core green colorway.

The lookbook, featuring Berlin hip-hop legends Taktloss and Frauenarzt, was shot and directed on location in the square by Berlin-based photographer and Highsnobiety collaborator Vitali Gelwich.

The collection and lookbook will debut at an exclusive invite-only event inside the evocative golden interior of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. Gift shop merchandise such as postcards, stickers, and silkscreen print posters will be available for purchase. Proceeds from the Highsnobiety x Diadora gift shop will be donated to a selected charity that shares the ethos and message of the location and the story of this collaboration.

The Highsnobiety x Diadora capsule drops Thursday, June 28 at 5 p.m. CET (11 a.m. EST).
