For Fall 2016, designer Rodolfo Paglialunga does well to recapture the spirit of the Jil Sander aesthetic. Modernist and minimalist at the same time, Jil Sander offerings are defined by clean lines, understated detailing and second-to-none craftsmanship. Those three attributes are evidently displayed here, with military-inspired menswear pieces that epitomize the purity of the founder's hand.
Neutral shades encapsulate a range of staple silhouettes, including boxy MA-1 flight jackets, wool overcoats, men's suiting and knitwear. Though Sander, feted for her effortless chic, is no longer at the helm of her eponymous label, Paglialunga, in only his third season with the brand, has preserved the identity of the brand through careful attention to detail and heedfulness to his predecessor's vision.
