In today’s world, life never stops moving. From day to night, unique experiences shape the modern man and woman into inspiring individuals. In that restless spirit, New Balance has crafted the NB 247: a shoe built for today’s 24/7 lifestyle. With a global series of parties on January 7, 2017 that showcased some of the most unique, creative, and innovative cultural figures in some of the world’s biggest cities, New Balance embodies how to live life in 247.

As the final global time zone, the Los Angeles event bookends the literal all-day worldwide party with an event that combined the city’s art, music, and of course, sneaker communities within a single impactful event.

The day started with a shopping event at sneaker boutique Nice Kicks that was open to the public. New Balance fans, insiders and newcomers were all able to experience the new 247 silhouette firsthand in a curated space. This included a 360 photo experience, providing guests the opportunity to literally picture themselves in 360 degrees in the various cities hosting New Balance 247 events around the globe.

Like the event in New York, the shopping event gave way to a conversational, two part panel series. The first panel was centered around contemporary and commercial art scenes, featuring artist Allie Phol, Brian Dead's Kyle Ng and hosted by Highsnobiety’s editor-at-large Jian Deleon. The second panel—also hosted by Deleon—featured a rigorous conversation on the city of angels’ equally legendary sneaker scene. Guests on the panel included Bob's Burgers director Tyree "Ree the Creator" Dillihay and Dom Charambone—better known as The Shoe Surgeon.

Also mirroring the NYC 247 event, the LA event transformed from a modern sneaker and art event into a string of musical performances to close out—not just the LA event—but the string of global 247 events. The roster featured notable R&B/soul singer-songwriter BJ The Chicago Kid.
