Remember Nautica? The preppy, brightly-colored American sportswear brand that your dad used to wear on those weekend fishing trips when you were a kid in the '90s? Well, thanks to "It" rapper Lil Yachty, the label is experiencing something of a comeback.
Early this year, it was announced that Yachty, who's regularly spotted wearing vintage pieces by the label, would join the Nautica team as Creative Designer for an upcoming capsule collection that's set to drop in the fall. "Nautica is like a part of me,” the red-haired rapper briefed. “It’s for kids, sailors, grown men and cool people.”
We caught up with Lil Yachty for a quick street style backstage at Nautica's FW17 show during New York Fashion Week: Men's. Catch the rapper flexing in a windbreaker from the brand's archive, a pair of Air Jordan 3 "White Cement" kicks, and a blinged-out sailboat chain necklace.
