Today New Balance announces its new 3D printing platform called TripleCell, created with technology from Formlabs. TripleCell provides New Balance sneakers with traditional performance cushioning components, beginning with the 990 Sport and followed by the FuelCell Echo.

New Balance and Formlabs, a Massachusetts-based leader in 3D printing systems, announced their partnership back in 2017. Together they are developing high performance materials, hardware, and a manufacturing process for athletic footwear. Their collaborative efforts have resulted in the creation of Rebound Resin, which itself creates springy, resilient lattice structures with durability, reliability, and longevity.

New Balance launches the TripleCell platform with the 990 Sport, featuring TripleCell technology in the heel. As a followup, the FuelCell Echo welcomes TripleCell in the forefoot. The 990 Sport is available beginning today for $185, prior to the release of the FuelCell Echo on September 15 for $175.
