Highsnobiety

The idea of having a written conversation over text message may soon be a thing of the past thanks to our favorite emoticons. More emojis are set for release in 2016 mixing the super weird with the necessary in a quirky new selection. Think selfies and face palms to avocados and tumblers of whiskey - and thats just a few of the suggested options, with talks of them being available around late June.

If you're wondering why we have to wait so long, its due to a slightly extensive process of the Unicode platform that means waiting for software makers to implement these various changes. Now using Unicode 9.0, the emojis begin their journey into becoming an existing character within an evergrowing computerized world of emotions. Be sure to check out the list of the 38 potential new candidates.

If you haven't quite had your emoji fix for today, why not check out the six new icons set to launch on Facebook.
