Highsnobiety

With spring upon us, we're excited to shed our winter layers and experiment with new looks – and we're not just talking fits. We're ready to stock our bathroom cabinets with new beauty drops, and the one on our radar is Revlon's So Fierce! collection. It includes the Prismatic Eye Shadow Palettes, the Big Bad Lash Mascara, the Chrome Ink Liquid Liner, and the Vinyl Eyeliner. Plus, we also got our hands on the Colorstay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick. It's everything we need to give our faces a spring makeover.

To put the collection to the test, we rounded up some of Highsnobiety's most discerning staffers to get their thoughts and their pro tips for creating bold, DIY glam looks this season.

So Fierce! Prismatic Eye Shadow Palettes

What I like about it: It’s spring, the sun is shining, and we’re possibly allowed to return outside, so I’m looking to enter back into the world with a bang and boldness that says, “I’m so ready to conquer the 2021 world!” To match this energy, I need a makeup look that is versatile, long-lasting, and pigmented enough to stand out, so I started using Revlon's So Fierce! eye shadows. The shades Slight Flex, The Big Bang, and That’s a Dub are my favorites. Each shade is simple to apply, wet or dry, which is great for layering product on for more intensity or keeping a low-maintenance, natural look.

My tips for creating a bold, DIY glam look: I’m no beauty expert, but I am a YouTube beauty enthusiast. And what beauty videos will teach you is that for a bold look it’s important to use the eye as your base. Eye shadow – more specifically the So Fierce! palette – can take your look from low-key to charged up. As a woman of color, I like to use very pigmented shadows to make glam looks come alive. Adding a splash of color to your eyes, experimenting with eyeliners, and adding full, luscious lashes will easily glam up any look.

What's on my beauty vision board for spring: I am all about bold colors: blues, greens, and pinks! I typically rock very muted, neutral tones, so for contrast, playing up my makeup look is vital to adding more flare.

So Fierce! Chrome Ink Liquid Liner

What I like about it: I love the Chrome Ink Liquid Liner because of its strong color payoff and lightweight formula. The applicator makes it super easy to apply.

My tips for creating a bold, DIY glam look: Since my makeup style is pretty minimalist, this liner is an easy way to add a pop of fun color.

What's on my beauty vision board for spring: My beauty vision board for the spring is to try and create more unique eye liner shapes with more color.

So Fierce! Big Bad Lash Mascara

What I like about it: I love how the Big Bad Lash Mascara glides on. It's never cake-y and you won’t ever have to worry about the dreaded spider eyelashes. It lasts all day without reapplication, and seriously makes it look like I have an eyelash tint at a fraction of the cost.

My tips for creating a bold, DIY glam look: They say eyes are the key to someone’s soul, and this couldn’t be more true in today’s world. We are constantly wearing masks, so one of the best ways we can express ourselves with makeup is through eyeshadow, and my personal favorite is mascara. Nothing makes the eyes pop more than beautiful, dark, bold, long eyelashes. The Big Bad Lash Mascara pulls my entire look together and, even better, I don’t have to worry about it getting messed up when I throw on my mask and walk out the door. Whether I’m going for something daring or something simple, I am never complete without my mascara.

What's on my beauty vision board for spring: Simple, I definitely want to go back to the basics! I love a fresh, no-makeup-makeup look. A light blush, a little bronzer, and, of course, a few swipes of the Big Bad Lash Mascara and I’m ready for a warm spring day.

So Fierce! Vinyl Eyeliner

What I like about it: I loved how bright these colors showed up and how easy it was for it to appear. No triple lining needed, and it went on smoothly, even with my dry skin.

My tips for creating a bold, DIY glam look: For me, being bold doesn't mean going all out on every aspect of my makeup, but rather honing in on one key thing – the lip or the eye or the cheek. Usually, I will pair a bright lip color with more natural makeup or bold eyeliner, like the Vinyl Eyeliner, with a more nude lip so the focus goes to that spot. It's fun to experiment with colors and spice up the everyday.

What's on my beauty vision board for spring: My spring beauty board is probably as classic as it gets: cream, yellow, pink, and baby blues, as if I am a walking picnic. For example, I would love to pair white nails with a peachy blush and baby-blue eyeliner.

Colorstay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick

What I like about it: The Colorstay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick has one of the best formulas I’ve ever used. I generally stayed away from lipstick altogether because I found that that they would dry my lips or start to crack, but that was not a problem with this – it glides on and was super soft on my lips.

My tips for creating a bold, DIY glam look: Use your favorite color and then add some shine or glitter. The Colorstay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick wins when it comes to the shine. My favorite colors are Fired Up and On a Mission!

What's on my beauty vision board for spring: My beauty vision board for spring includes natural skin and pops of color. Get that skincare up and level up with a bright, graphic eyeliner or a bold lip color!
