The last chapter we've seen of the rollercoaster relationship between Drake and Rihanna's came when the Toronto rapper confessed his love for her at the 2016 MTV VMAs. Since getting subtly curved in front of everyone for that awkward kiss, the two have been very quiet about the other since, until now.

In an interview for Vogue‘s June issue published online Thursday, Rihanna finally shed's light on the status of their relationship admitting that he's currently not in the friend zone.

“We don’t have a friendship now, but we’re not enemies either,” RiRi reveals. “It is what it is.”

That’s a stark contrast from what we saw on stage at the VMAs.

“She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old,” Drake said on the broadcast while presenting Rihanna with the network’s coveted Video Vanguard Award. “She’s one of my best friends in the world. She’s a living breathing legend in our industry.”

As many women could only dream about getting showered with compliments and love by the one and only 6 God, Rihanna, however, does not. She told Vogue that the moment at the VMAs left her feeling twitchy.

“Waiting through that speech was probably the most uncomfortable part,” she said. “I don’t like too many compliments; I don’t like to be put on blast.”

Not every shot is going to be a swish. Sorry, Drake. Do you expect we'll get a Rihanna focused track on his upcoming Scorpion album? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
