Sporty & Rich

Sporty & Rich is tackling cozy season in style, tapping Los Angeles' Sunset Tower for an exclusive collaborative collection.

I love a tracksuit. From my matching Nike sets from JJB Sports as a child to the golden era of Tech Fleece in the mid-2010s or current rotation of Cole Buxton Warm Up sweats, I rarely go a day without throwing one on.

Last year, when we first locked into working from home, loungewear became the daily uniform. Sweatpants became the new tailored pant and sales were booming. This paved the way for countless brands to offer up their own spins on the classic two-piece to a varying degree.

Before developing into a fully-fledged brand of its own, Emily Oberg's Sporty & Rich began as a mood board, representative of a life surrounded by beauty and vintage sports advertisements.

As quickly as it grew visually, the Sporty & Rich lifestyle took off, growing from a selection of t-shirts into the ultimate comfy uniform.

The latest capsule offers up an updated take on Oberg's comfort-first uniform of minimalistic wardrobe essentials, in collaboration with LA's Sunset Tower.

Although collaborating with a hotel may seem like an unusual creative decision, Oberg explains it, saying: "When I first moved to LA, Sunset Tower quickly became one of my regular hangouts. It was down the street from where I lived, and I immediately fell in love with the old Hollywood feeling it gives as soon as you drive up to the valet.

I’m really big on good lighting and music in restaurants, and theirs is always perfect. The jazz band, candlelit tables, the palms, the way the pool glows at night against the Los Angeles skyline – for me, Sunset Tower is quintessential LA."

Within the lineup, you'll find subtly co-branded tracksuits, t-shirts, and accessories in a palette of "Lavender," "Chocolate," "Heather Grey," and "Cream."

You can shop the collection exclusively at Sporty & Rich and Selfridges from December 13.
