Like the OG Half Cab, the Vans LX Half Cab Reissue 33 exists as a nice hybrid between a skate shoe and a boot. But with the help of Vans Premium, the skate house's elevated product line, the Half Cab just got a material upgrade via glossy high sidewalls and a luxe soft suede upper. 

Add in the sneaker's sleek all-black colorway, and the mixed-breed shoe has truly reached new levels of dapper demureness.

And when I say all black — I mean all back. The shred-happy brand left no inky stone unturned when it came to this obsidian masterpiece. Black laces, on top of a black upper, on top of a black outsole.

Even the insole, in all of its board-ready cushiness, has its settings set to dark mode. In the case of très chic skate sneakers, black is still the new black.

None of this tonal mastery translates to basicness, though. That's all offset by the Half Cab's sooty suede upper and shiny sable outsole. As of late, the Vans Half Cab, available on the Vans website for $100, has experienced quite the renaissance within the rugged world of skate shoes.
