Lil Nas X has been dealing with backlash since coming out as gay earlier this month and now Young Thug has joined the conversation. During a No Jumper interview with Adam22, Thug stated that he believes the “Old Town Road” artist should’ve kept quiet about his sexuality.
“I feel like he probably shouldn’t have told the world, because these days—motherf***ers is just all judgement,” Thug said. “It ain’t even about the music no more. Soon as the song comes on everybody’s like ‘this gay ass n***a’.”
Shortly after making that comment, Thug clarified that he felt Lil Nas X wasn’t wrong to come out, more that he worries about the ensuing controversy and backlash.
“It wasn’t a bad idea and it was most definitely the best time to do it. During Pride [Month]. That was a G’s move. But it’s like, he young and I know what he going to be dealing with. I dealt with this sh*t before.
