Stone Island’s experimental Shadow Project line just revealed its FW16 lookbook, and the coming chilly weather collection has a certain post-apocalyptic touch to it, a bit like the inaugural YEEZY season.
The underlying concept behind the 17th Shadow Project collection is the inherent friction between the contemporary individual and the space that they inhabit. It’s a decisive response to the sensory excess of modern times, presenting optimal weather-resistant fabrics that are said to maintain persona order amidst the fluid chaos of the modern habitat.
Signature Stone Island fabrics such as David-TC and Raso-R have new “Fallout Color treatment” applied to them by hand, which gives them a certain eroded effect and gritty exterior that makes them look like they’ve survived a nuclear war.
