Channeling the family-like spirit of Berlin’s dance floors, GmbH is the fashion collective founded on grounding principles like pragmatism, collaboration and community.
Helmed by German-Turkish designer, Serhat Isik and Norwegian-Pakistani photographer and artist, Benjamin Alexander Huseby (who has lensed fashion editorials and campaigns for the likes of Dazed and Prada), the brand creates clothing that transcends race or gender, and uses fashion as a medium to promote the power of positivity, inclusivity and diversity.
Having just shown their FW17 collection in Paris, the brand has already courted the likes of Opening Ceremony, LN-CC and Voo Berlin to debut their first collection. Naturally, the Berlin-based brand takes its aesthetic cues from the city’s reverberating nightlife, and their wares could quite effortlessly transition from a night of hedonistic industrial techno-mania to an everyday look for the gritty city streets.
From fine knit athletic bodies, collaged from deadstock wool, to tight lycra long-sleeved jumpers in primary colors to traditional carpenter’s guild trousers in corduroy and recycled Helly Hansen puffer coats, GmbH’s latest collection is an obscenely Berlin bricolage of clubwear, workwear, and sportswear that bridges the ever-eroding wall between high fashion and streetwear.
