Opening Ceremony unveils its Summer 2017 collection, which is inspired by the journeys of American immigrants. Particularly taking cues on traditions from the Baltic, the lineup of feminine silhouettes embody a blend based on folklore, alongside menswear details, ornate accents and embroideries with modern asymmetry.
Loose, airy pieces — chiffon maxi dresses, ruched cotton tees, and clean tops with fluttery sleeves – are core pieces of the range, which evoke a romantic, yet versatile aesthetic. Menswear elements are found on an off-shoulder dress and puff-sleeve cardigan featuring necklines inspired by French-cuff shirting, while an oversized hooded button-down and tank dress in silk jacquard, incorporates a diamond geometry borrowed from foulard neckties and handkerchiefs. In addition, an oxford-like top features panels of poplin stripes.
A standout detail consist of embroidery, inspired by Baltic textiles, are reinterpreted in geometric zigzag rather than its traditional floral makeup. Furthermore, reversible silk robes and kimono souvenir jackets featuring a spin of the OC logo are notable pieces.
Finally, a refreshed lineup of footwear with slides, such as the Paulyna and Natalija, come in black, white, and croc-embossed metallic leathers. The Nykola, a flatform clog returns in burnished silver, while low-heel sandals and the popular Cici slip-on is rendered in nude satin.
Blending a muted and crisp palette of sand, black, white, cantaloupe, pistachio, and sailor blue – the Opening Ceremony Summer 2017 collection is available starting today.
