Location: Milan, Italy
Season: Spring/Summer 2018
Key Pieces: The deftly oversized track jackets, the deliciously decadent mink blazer, and the recurring double-F logo ties.
Editor’s Notes: It looks as though #officecore has been taken to its most pedestrian, most luxurious, and its most achingly banal (yet trend-centric) extreme by Fendi.
These sound like bad things, but they’re absolutely not, it’s simply the carefully calculated normalization of the avant-gardist corporate tailoring previously exacted by Demna Gvasalia at Balenciaga. Except, Fendi’s business-casual finery is iced with plenty of “nostalgic-yet-now” references like sportswear motifs, bowling shirts, huge nylon bags, wide-cut and extremely high-waisted pleated trousers as well as a heavy smattering of logomania.
