With the 2018 Winter Olympics set to occur in February in Pyeongchang County, South Korea, the world will once again hone in on the theatrics that take place during the figure skating competition.
For many, the artistry and choreography of the sport is also synonymous with one of the most sinister acts of sabotage in sports history; Tonya Harding's takedown of rival, Nancy Kerrigan, using a dimwitted crew consisting of her husband and a hired goon.
In I, Tonya, Margot Robbie takes on the titular role of Tonya Harding in the forthcoming comedy-biopic which chronicles her motivations during the 1994 Winter Olympics which led to that fateful decision to trade triple axles for a lead pipe.
The film opens in limited release on December 8 with a plan for a larger roll out in subsequent weeks.
