Editor's Notes: What's your favorite part of the day? For me, it's any part involving food. If yours is your daily commute, fair enough, and maybe this upcoming collaboration between atmos and ASICS is perfect.

A classic by all definitions, the ASICS GEL-LYTE III celebrated its 30th-anniversary last year, and by the looks of things, it's going to continue to be on the receiving end of a lot of love in 2022.

Just last week, the silhouette came back into our sphere by way of the "Academic Scholar Pack" sequel. Already, we're left eagerly awaiting information surrounding a two-piece subway-inspired collection.

First teased on Instagram via atmos' Creative Director Hirofumi Kojima, the two-piece pack pulls its aesthetics from Tokyo and New York City's iconic subway lines.

Each of the two sneakers on offer come covered front-to-back in high-quality leather that's decorated with Google Maps-like prints of both city's public transport systems.

From afar, the dual offering may be difficult to differentiate, but on closer examination, it becomes evident which is which. For the Tokyo-dedicated pair, kanji sits at the tip of the toe in deep blue embroidery, while an orange embroidery ASICS logo flashes to the side.

For New York City, on the other hand, logo embroidery in the same location is colored a deep red, with an overall paler palette of beige and blue compared to the prior's navy and blue. On each pair, you'll also find "NYC" and "TYO," as well as the Big Apple and The Landmark Tower tagged on the tongues.

Of course, both pairs feature a littering of additional colors throughout, thanks to the subway system prints, making it impossible not to admire the finer details.
