Luxury fashion house Balenciaga has announced it will present a menswear show for the first time in its 99-year history.
The move follows the high-profile appointment of Vetements's head designer Demna Gvasalia as artistic director last year, and is set to take place during Paris Menswear Week on June 22. According to a statement released by the house, the show will debut "the masculine vision" of Gvasalia.
Given the stir he's caused with his anarchic Vetements collections, it could prove interesting for Balenciaga's ultra-feminine, urbanely sophisticated reputation.
While there will probably be enough nods to the house's principles to satisfy the purists, it is certain that Gvasalia will want to stamp his own visual motifs onto the show. We can't wait.
Until then, here's everything you need to know about the man himself.
