Editor’s Notes: From Kim Kardashian's restrictive tape ensemble to bulky Croc boots, Balenciaga remains the topic of conversation for its unique pieces and undoubtedly clever marketing ploys. The Demna-led brand's latest shoe already has the streets talking...because it just turned your favorite casual sneakers into a backless shoe.

Dubbed the "Paris" shoe, Balenciaga's slip-on sneaker resembles a used pair of kicks that became the target of an impulsive DIY project.

Balenciaga's non-slip "Paris" shoe kinda reminds you a less athletic version of the brand's Track Mule, as it matches the mule-style sneaker's energy with its missing backside.

The latest shoe's frayed opening looks as if a scissor-happy moment went down, removing the backside of the shoe's upper entirely.

Meanwhile, pre-loved details add to the DIY aesthetic, like the shoe's overall faded navy blue color, intentionally dirtied toe box and midsole, and worn brand-less label tag.

If the not-so-typical shoe didn't scream Balenciaga for you, the brand made its presence known with the branding on the toe and insole.

The Balenciaga Paris shoe saw a pre-launch in Korea, but the global launch is underway. Not to mention, you can expect monogram versions to arrive sometime in the summer.

Sure, you could easily cut up your own kicks. But, the big question here is: to DIY or let Balenciaga do it for you? Hmm.
