You can add Billie Eilish to the ever-growing list of names that have contributed to the upcoming Barbie extravaganza in some way shape or form, that’s after the singer announced she’ll be releasing a song for the Greta Gerwig movie that’s landing in theatres globally on July 21.

Speaking at the Barbie world premiere on July 10, Eilish revealed that her new song What Was I Made For? will be available to stream from July 13 (7PM PT), a release that sees her join names like Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Ice Spice, and Nicki Minaj on an already stacked soundtrack.

Still, if the fact Eilish’s music was entering a Barbie era wasn’t enough for one night, it also appears that her style has been given an injection of Barbi-fication.

The 21-year-old arrived on the red carpet, alongside brother Finneas O’Connell, sporting an extremely alternative Barbie look, so alt that Eilish described it as “more of a Ken thing.”

The once Highsnobiety cover star wore black high-water slacks, a pink pinstripe shirt, and a matching pink tie, with a pair of the hella chunky ERL sneakers on foot. It was a far cry from anything we’ve seen from the rest of the Barbie cast thus far, but, then again, what did we expect?

Ever since becoming a household name back in 2016 at the age of 15, Eilish has gained recognition for her distinctive fashion sense, one often characterized by non-traditional, loose-fitting ‘fits, sneakers, large jackets, and tracksuits.

In fact, her look is often so unique that an ensemble of Eilish's could well be recognized as one of her ‘fits without her even wearing it.

This, though, hasn’t come without its criticism. “I spent the first five years of my career getting absolutely obliterated by you fools for being boyish and dressing how I did (and) constantly being told I’d be hotter if I acted like a woman," Eilish recent penned on Instagram.

“Now when I feel comfortable enough to wear anything remotely feminine or fitting, I changed and am a sellout."

Eilish is far from a sellout. In fact, the singer is arguably one of the most purposely lackadaisical dressers in the business, which is a good thing by the way.

She does things her own way irrespective of what others think, which is certainly a part of her charm. And the fact she’s rocked up at the world premiere of one of the world's most highly-anticipated movies in a kind of smart casual Barbie ‘fit is further proof that, frankly, she doesn’t care what anyone thinks.
