Bradley Cooper. Actor. Father. Swagmaster. The Oscar-nominated star has a bizarre fascination with dressing like a high school hypebeast, as he nattily demonstrated (again) during an April 2 stroll in New York.
Therein, Cooper wore what is effectively his signature look: dark sunglasses, Nike Air Force 1 sneakers designed by Riccardo Tisci, and a pair of, respectably, heinous blue cargo pants printed with stars and camouflage, all topped off with a high-vis The North Face jacket.
It must be said that Cooper loves these pants. Like, a lot.
Cooper's worn them on many, many occasions, even sometimes while out with model girlfriend Gigi Hadid, whose typically trendy looks really put Brad's cargos in sharp contrast.
This isn't even one of Cooper's wildest outfits, believe it or not.
The North Face jacket is a new, drippy addition to his bafflingly indescribable wardrobe but, otherwise, we're dealing with nothing but certified Cooper Classics. Even the high-tops are an old favorite.
Which brings us to the simple fact that Bradley Cooper's wardrobe is one of the year's great enigmas.
Prior to 2024, we only discussed his dad style, because that's all Cooper offered. He'll still wear age-appropriate suits 'n slacks on certain nights out with Hadid, demonstrating that, sometimes, the 49-year-old actor is willing to dress his age.
On the other hand, Cooper is just as often seen wearing outfits that veer from unfettered dadcore to swaglord supreme, swapping between Salomon hiking shoes and his Travis Scott Jordans so suddenly as to give any style watchdogs whiplash.
Don't mistake this as a declaration that folks must always dress age-appropriate. When it comes to clothes, age ain't nothin' but a number. Wear whatever feels right. And so on.
Except for Bradley Cooper.
I have to wonder if his boundless enthusiasm for some of the least stylish staples imaginable comes from a desire to purposely not wear what people expect him to wear. Perhaps his youthful dress is a tacit middle finger to middle age.
Which is fine except that this stuff is simple too youthful. Sorry, Brad, but it's time to retire the cargos. You can keep the Jordans.
