If you're planning a hot date this Valentine's, we suggest you avoid sensitive topics like religion, politics or whether your sweetheart is Team Cardi B or Nicki Minaj, as one couple just found out the hard way.

The couple in question is Don’te and D’Andrew Leaphart, who have attributed Cardi and Minaj's famous rap beef to the disintegration of their relationship. The couple appeared on a recent episode of Divorce Court to reach a financial settlement related to their separation. When asked by  Judge Lynn Toler, “What actually caused the separation?” D’Andrew answered under oath, “The Nicki Minaj and Cardi B beef. I’m serious about that.”

D’Andrew explained that he and his partner were discussing “who started what” between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. “It was silly,” Don’te said. He believed Cardi was in the right, while D’Andrew was in support of Minaj.

While Don’te claimed that this one of the “most disrespectful” moments of their relationship he conceded that there were “underlying issues” that preceded the rap beef fissure.
