Comme des Garcons

COMME des GARÇONS and Nike go way back. Hence why The Swoosh trusts CDG to liven up some of its classic silhouettes, from old-school runners to underappreciated basketball kicks.

Speaking of, Nike's inimitable Terminator shoe is COMME des GARÇONS' focus for Spring/Summer 2023, as the Japanese label gives the old-school high-top a suitably timeless makeover.

The CdG x Nike Terminator not a crazy collaboration by any means, making CdG's Jordan 1 and Nike Premier books look positively futuristic by comparison.

CdG instead opted to revive the Terminator in easy colorways of white and navy, red, or black. Simple stuff, made a little more special by the oversized "NIKE" and "CDG" branding on the heel of each sneaker.

Retailing for $235, COMME des GARÇONS' Nike Terminator High drops April 1 at Dover Street Market webstores, plus every global CdG and DSM retailer and then various stockists.

The Terminator is a pretty canny choice on CdG's end, as far as collabs go: the far-reaching fashion giant has already taken on Nike silhouettes as familiar as the Nike Dunk Low and as obtuse as the Air Max Sunder.

Meanwhile, COMME des GARÇONS' Terminator, debuted with a funky elephant-filled campaign and corresponding video directed by CLOSER, is a nice middle ground.

This isn't a sneaker as readily available as the Nike Dunk nor is it as advanced as, say, the Nike Shox. In fact, the Nike Terminator is really close to the Dunk High and Air Jordan 1 in terms of pure wearability — we're talking about three classic basketball sneakers here, so no shock there — and COMME des GARÇONS' ultra-approachable colorways ought to only make it that much more desirable.

Of course, there are also ample CdG collabs with footwear brands as disparate as Salomon, Spalwart, and ASICS simultaneously being developed. It's cliché to say there's something for everyone but, well...
