Founded in 2008, originally inspired by outerwear don, the late Massimo Osti, MA.STRUM continues its experiments in technical layers with this upcoming Fall/Winter 2015 collection. Based in Essex, England, the brand strives to "realise game-changing design" using "future-ready fabrics and cutting-edge production techniques." Adapting classic silhouettes, the company push a contemporary look with all the bells and whistles you'd expect from as Osti-influenced brand. A simple bomber, the "ID Flight Jacket" takes the MA-1 a step further, using a clever, tear-resistant poly/nylon memory fabric which has been designed to return to its original shape after punishing wear. The more complex "Reversible Field Jacket" comes with a poly cotton wax coated fabric on one side and a nylon waxed finish on the other, providing a perfect protective layer in a storm, whichever way you choose to wear.
Down of course plays its part, most notably in "The Harrier" jacket and gilet which both use a tough micro rip-stop nylon fabric, the jacket featuring handy oversized pockets and a removable hood. Making sure all bases are covered, a selection of jersey, knitwear, hoodies and shirt pieces have been made with similar attention to detail, all complimenting the dominant color palette of red, orange, navy and green. Look out for the line dropping in the coming months at the MA.STRUM website.
