Highsnobiety

Known for his work designing tour merchandise as well as one-of-a-kind looks for Justin Bieber on his Purpose World Tour, Jerry Lorenzo has always had his finger on the pulse of popular culture. Fear of God proves time and time again that Lorenzo knows what the world wants before the world even knows it. Whether that’s oversized shirts made of fine suede or subsidiary line Fear of God ESSENTIALS which provides staple pieces that retain FOG’s sun-bleached aesthetic at a lower price point.

While Fear of God ESSENTIALS is most well-known for clothing, Lorenzo is no stranger to footwear design either. With collaborations alongside Nike as well as a highly successful range of men’s footwear under the Fear of God name, Lorenzo has most recently added Converse to his list.

Joining forces with the brand over the Converse Chuck Taylor 70, Fear of God ESSENTIALS presents two pared-back iterations of the classic style which revolve around subtle details. XL laces wrap around the ankle of the shoe while a premium full-grain leather tongue and ESSENTIALS logo to the heel demarcate this as a luxury update. Originally dropping on February 26th, and selling out within hours, the design has proven its mettle once before so act fast because two colorways just dropped at SSENSE.
