Brand: Footpatrol x adidas Consortium

Model: ZX Torsion

Key Features: adidas’ best-known midsole support technology, Torsion, and the revolutionary Boost cushioning system combine on the ZX Torsion. Footpatrol has opted to dress the shoe’s mixed-material overlays in a combination of stark whites, subtle greys, and eye-catching neon yellows. Co-branded detailing is seen throughout, while the split midsole further draws attention to the Torsion system and the way it connects the heel and forefoot while allowing them to flex independently from one another.

Editor’s Notes: adidas and retailer Footpatrol have unveiled their collaborative take on the former’s ZX Torsion. The sneaker is part of a concerted effort on adidas’ part to celebrate old silhouettes and technology by giving them a more modern spin, such as adding Boost cushioning here.

adidas is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its Torsion midsole technology. Another of its old-school game-changing technologies, Torsion has withstood the test of time and is still used in adidas sneakers today. Torsion is essentially a TPU arch that bridges the rear foot and forefoot, allowing both to move independently of one another.

So far, the exact release date and price of the shoe have not been revealed, though Footpatrol’s social accounts write it is “coming soon.” Stay tuned for more.
