It is hard to imagine that a film starring and made by multiple Academy Award winners and nominees would be anything but great, and the trailer for Ridley Scott's upcoming film House of Gucci is looking like a must-watch.
Yesterday, the first trailer for the film surfaced, featuring Adam Driver and Lady Gaga as Mr. and Mrs. Gucci, and it is giving us a first look at the story detailing the assassination of Maurizio Gucci, which was orchestrated by his ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani. Based on Sara Gay Forden’s novel The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed, the story follows the downfall of the Gucci family empire and the story that ultimately results in 18 long years in jail for Reggiani.
The movie also stars Jared Leto, who looks virtually unrecognizable in his role as Paolo Gucci. After posters of the actors were revealed, one may wonder why Ridley Scott didn't just cast someone that didn't need a face full of prosthetics to play the role, but regardless, we can't wait for Leto's performance. Lastly, Jeremy Irons, Al Pacino, and Salma Hayek round off the star-studded cast.
The trailer captures a glimpse at the glamour and intensity of the story, ending with Lady Gaga as Patrizia, saying, "I don't consider myself to be a particularly ethical person. But I am fair." If there's one thing we know for sure is that the fashion is going to be immaculate, and we can't wait to see it on the big screen.
House of Gucci is hitting cinemas on November 24. Until then, watch the trailer below.
