Iceberg has debuted an SS19 footwear collection that makes F1 racing cars seem quiet in comparison.

Taking British (and London) streetwear aesthetics at their loudest and blending it with select designs from their rich archive, and then applying that through a filter of motorsport's visual attitude and uniforms, the iconic Italian luxe label has landed at a distinct collection of unisex, male, and female sneakers—all in gloriously loud and visually arresting colorways.

The men's collection is split between running shoes and ultra-technical scuba shoes. A mix of split leather, calfskin, and nubuck are the foundational fabrics for the runners, with technical fabric inserts, bold logos, fluorescent colors broken by black and white combine across the uppers. The 'Clyde' updates the classic runner silhouette with vinyl on the toe and metal mesh side inserts (in a nod to automotive materials). Logoed ribbon, transparent piping, and chunky light-weight rubber soles feature throughout.

For the ultra-technical scuba sneakers, the wrap-around nylon sock construction gives that secure snug-like feel with a future-proof look, while PVC appliqués on the side mix with embroideries and the ever-present iconic Iceberg logo. The restyling of the 'Classic' carry over features a multicolored split leather, suede and technical fabric upper and a customized stretch sock with the signature Iceberg logo tape.

All make use of logoed ribbon, transparent piping, and sit atop the light-weight chunky rubber sole units for comfort, support, and that all important statement silhouette. Bonus: a selection of slides in Iceberg's classic serif branding are added to the drop.

Iceberg is one of the core Italian luxe labels. Founded in 1974 and based in central Italy's "motor valley" (the home of some of the country's iconic car brands), Iceberg developed an avid cult following among the important Paninaro movement of late '80s Italy (and Milan). Iceberg was therefore at the forefront of the (European) beginnings of streetwear as we know it today, combining athleticwear's functionality with luxury fabrics and construction. However, its trademark has been its unapologetic use of loud logos and branding which made it a favorite among rap stars in the US 1990s hip hop scene. The label is now headed by pioneering British menswear designer James Long.

Iceberg's SS19 sneaker collection drops March 26 at Iceberg.com and select luxury retailers worldwide.
